The lively dance of the reed pen
In the whispers of love, words falter, so I embraced brevity and reached for the reed. It carried tales of suffering and love, and this time, I didn’t breathe life into it; instead, I let it dance upon the canvas of paper, weaving stories inspired by the great poets – Hafez, Rumi, Khayyam, and more. Their calligraphy manifested amid a palette of colors and strokes, humbling me deeply.
My life’s journey and calligraphy entwine, where I don’t just write the letters; I live them, adorning each one like a devoted gardener. Together, we transcend the confines of existence, dancing in enthusiastic harmony. In this intricate ballet, the reed and I become mere spectators, as the reed eloquently narrates, I embrace the alliance.
My land dancing colours through my art pieces
Our land, Iran, is like a silk carpet adorned with intricate patterns; its warp and weft are soft and colorful. Believing in the beauty of this narrative, as a native, I am steadfast in embracing the ancient arts, culture, and civilization. This ancient land imbues itself with various colors; vibrant blues and shining yellows catch the eye everywhere. Even the bright colors we find in miniature paintings of the Minakari school are absent in Baroque art from the same period. This does affect my works as I live in a land abundant with colors, and I always strive to showcase the colors of my homeland in my art. I believe these colors draw from the spirits of our ancestors, an elixir derived from the wisdom of artists and profound poetry of the people. All these reflections shape our perspective.
Blues, turquoises, and dancing whites can be observed in various architectural spaces. As a painter immersed in this field, I see a musical essence in the interplay of lines, shapes, and colors, rich with lyrical expression. Lines are adorned with the harmony of color. Letters have impactful aesthetics in different spaces.
In the end, choosing a line that represents deep poetry or the essence of life, and then combining it with writing, color, and form, creates a harmonious composition.
